CPSO ARRESTS TWO FOR MULTIPLE DWIS

Lake Charles –

 

On July 3 at approximately 2:00 a.m., a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s deputy conducted a stop on a vehicle on L’Auberge Ave for a traffic violation.

 

When the deputy approached the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Katlyn L. Caswell, 21, 5797 Fabacher Rd., Sulphur, he detected an odor of alcohol emitting from his breath. Caswell also had slurred speech and an unsteady balance.

 

After Caswell performed poorly on a standard field sobriety test, he was transferred to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office where a breath intoxilyzer test revealed he was over the legal limit.

 

Caswell, who has two prior DWI arrests, was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with DWI 3rd; careless operation; and driving under suspension for prior DWI.

 

Judge Robert Wyatt set his bond at $18,000.

On July 4 at approximately 5:00 p.m., a Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s deputy conducted a stop on a vehicle on Old Spanish Trail for a traffic violation. When the deputy approached the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Christopher Lemelle, 45, 2216 Evergreen Road, Westlake, he showed signs of impairment. After Lemelle performed poorly on a standard field sobriety test, he was transferred to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, where a breath intoxilyzer test revealed he was over the legal limit.

 

Lemelle, who has three prior DWI arrests, was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with DWI 4th ; careless operation; and driving under suspension for prior offenses.

 

Judge Robert Wyatt set his bond at $103,500.
