CPSO RECOVERS BODY OF MAN IN CALCASIEU RIVER

Yesterday, June 16 around noon, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Goos Ferry Road in reference to a possible drowning. When deputies arrived they discovered Clevence Lee Deshotel, 57, 1847 Claude Hebert Road, unresponsive in the water near the vicinity of his houseboat on the Calcasieu River. He was pronounced dead at the scene and the CPSO Marine Division recovered his body. Foul play is not suspected at this time. The drowning appears to be accidental but the investigation is continuing pending the Calcasieu Coroner’s examination.
