Craig Bean

Bean has had a career in law enforcement for over 25 years. He started his career at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office in 1991.

 

Bean has worked in several departments including Corrections and Enforcement. During his career Bean also served as Lieutenant over the CPSO ACT-T Team (Anti-Crime, Tactical & Training Unit) for several years. Prior to being promoted to Commander, Bean most recently served as Captain over Enforcement and then was transferred to Captain over Support Services.

 

Throughout his law enforcement career, he has attended many law enforcement related schools and seminars. He is a graduate of the Calcasieu Parish Regional Law Enforcement Academy with numerous hours of post certification training.


Daniel Burkhalter, Jr.

Calcasieu Sheriff's Correctional Center Warden  |  Email 


Burkhalter worked at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's as a burglary and theft detective. He has worked at CPSO since 1991 with 10 years of corrections experience.

 

He is a graduate of the Calcasieu Parish Regional Law Enforcement Academy with numerous hours of post certification training. Burkhalter holds a degree in Criminal Justice from McNeese State University.


Nick Fontenot

Investigations Commander  |  Email


Fontenot has worked for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office over 20 years. He has spent the majority of his career in the Enforcement division, where he worked his way up through the ranks and was promoted to lieutenant. Fontenot has also worked as a captain in Corrections and Safe School.

 

Throughout his law enforcement career, he has attended many law enforcement related schools and seminars, specializing in leadership and defensive tactics. He is a graduate of the Calcasieu Parish Regional Law Enforcement Academy with numerous hours of post certification training.


Mike Fusilier

Logistical Support Commander  |  Email


Fusilier began his career at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office in 1992. He worked in numerous departments including Enforcement and Investigations. Fusilier also served as a lieutenant over Narcotics. In 2005 Fusilier was promoted to Captain and later Director over Fleet Operations.

 

Throughout his law enforcement career, he has attended numerous training and courses in investigations, narcotics, and fleet management. Fusilier is a graduate of the Calcasieu Parish Regional Law Enforcement Academy and a recipient of the FBI-LEEDA Leadership Trilogy Award. Prior to his career in law enforcement Fusilier served in the United States Marine Corps during Desert Storm. 


Jeff Miller

Calcasieu Sheriff's Prison Warden  |  Email 


Jeff Miller  joined the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office in 1995, as a correctional officer.

 

Miller has spent his entire career in corrections.  In 2001, Miller was promoted to Shift Supervisor and in 2004 he was promoted to Assistant Warden.  Miller was promoted to Warden over the Correctional Center in October 2015 and in 2019 Commander over the Calcasieu Sheriff's Prison.

 

Miller served in the United States Army for 10 years. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Session 252.


Nicole Ory

Chief Financial Officer  |  Email 


Nicole Ory started her career at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office in 2004 as the supervisor over the Purchasing department.

 

During the majority of her career at CPSO she worked in Purchasing. In 2018 Ory was transferred to Accounting, while still maintaining the position of Purchasing Supervisor. In July 2020 she took on the role of Chief Financial Officer.

 

Throughout her career, she has attended many leadership training courses as well as training in governmental finance and public procurement.


Gene Pittman 

Enforcement Commander   |  Email 


Pittman has had a career in law enforcement for over 20 years. He started his career at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office in 1994. 

 

Pittman has worked in numerous departments including Corrections, Enforcement, and Narcotics. Pittman also served as Assistant Director and Director of the CAT Task Force at separate times during his career. He most recently served as Captain over Special Services and was then transferred to Captain over Investigations. 

 

Throughout his law enforcement career, he has attended many law enforcement related schools and seminars. He is a graduate of the 263rd Session FBI National Academy.


Matt Vezinot

Special Services Commander  |  Email


Vezinot was the supervisor of the Crime Scene/Photographic Services Division at Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office. He has been employed at CPSO since 1992. He served as an assistant team leader/team commander of the CPSO Special Operations Group (SWAT), as well as, a fingerprint instructor at the Calcasieu Parish Regional Law Enforcement Academy.

 

Vezinot served in the U.S. Army and was activated during Desert Storm. He is a member of several civic organizations and has attended numerous specialized law enforcement training schools with focus on crime scene management, forensics, and tactical operations. He is a graduate of the 228th Session FBI National Academy.
