CALCASIEU PARISH SHERIFF’S OFFICE RELEASES INFO TO PUBLIC IN THE EVENT OF FLOODING IN WESTERN PORTION OF PARISH

Due to the open spillway gates at Toledo Bend Reservoir, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is taking necessary precautionary measures in preparation for the possibility of flooding in Calcasieu Parish.            

          

Chief Deputy Stitch Guillory says, “We are currently seeing flooding in the areas of Alligator Park Road, Bass Lake Road, Fountain Cemetery Road, and Jimmy Doyle Road in Starks as well as Wright Road and Steward Road in Vinton.  At this time the flooding is minimal, but we are urging residents to keep an eye on the situation.  We have high water vehicles and boats staged in the areas and are prepared to handle any flood-related calls we may receive.  We will continue to monitor the flooding situation.”
