CPSO INVESTIGATING OVERNIGHT HOMICIDE

Lake Charles, LA –

Last night, Saturday, March 2, at 7:45 p.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a residence on W. Tank Farm Road in Lake Charles in reference to a shooting.

During the initial investigation it was discovered a drive by shooting occurred in the area of W. Tank Farm Road and Sailfish Drive.  Multiple rounds were fired, at which time a bullet traveled through a residence, striking a woman who was inside.  Further investigation revealed another home in the area was also struck, but no one inside the home was injured.

The victim, Annette D. Touvell, 65, Lake Charles, was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.

“We have no reason to believe this home or family was specifically targeted during the shooting.  My heart goes out to the victim’s family; this is a sad and tragic situation where an innocent victim lost their life to a senseless crime,” stated Sheriff Tony Mancuso.  “Detectives are currently following up on several leads, as well as canvassing the neighborhood for further video footage and possible evidence.”

The investigation is continuing.  Detectives have developed a car of interest and are asking anyone in the area that may have security cameras or anyone with information to please call CPSO at (337) 491-3605.  You can also submit an anonymous tip by using the CloseWatch Calcasieu app or by calling Crime Stoppers at 439-2222.

CPSO Detective Lauren Manuel is the lead investigator on this case.
