Lake Charles, LA –
Earlier this morning at approximately 4:00 a.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a residence on Sherry Street in Sulphur in reference to a medical emergency.
Upon deputies arrival, they located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. During the course of the initial investigation, detectives developed a person of interest, who they believe may be hiding in the immediate area where the incident occurred. A permitter has been set and deputies are actively searching for the person of interest.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and was later transported to a hospital out of town.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
