Lake Charles, LA –
Due to the possibility of inclement weather from Tropical Storm (Hurricane) Francine headed towards the Louisiana coast, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Administrative Office, Tax Office, and departments with non-essential personnel will be closing at noon tomorrow, Tuesday, September 10. The CPSO Sheriff Sales is also cancelled for Wednesday, September 11. CPSO will resume normal operations on Thursday, September 12.
“The Sheriff’s Office has taken necessary actions in preparation for the possibility for inclement weather
including extra patrols, starting tomorrow evening,” stated Calcasieu Sheriff Gary “Stitch” Guillory. “At this time, as the storm approaches the Louisiana coast, due to the track shifting eastward, we are expecting this to be a likely rain event for our area with intermittent wind gusts up to 50 mph, and possible flooding. We will have high water vehicles and boats staged in different areas within the parish, on both sides of the river and are fully prepared to handle any flood-related calls we receive. We urge all residents to stay informed and keep a close watch on the changing weather conditions to ensure your safety.”
