CPSO DEPUTIES PARTICIPATE IN SPECIAL OLYMPICS LOUISIANA FUNDRAISER “TIP A COP”

Lake Charles, LA –

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies will participate in the Special Olympics Louisiana (LASO) fundraiser “Tip-A-Cop” on Thursday, March 10 at Texas Roadhouse, located at 3431 Nelson Road in Lake Charles, from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.  Deputies will volunteer their time as “celebrity waiters” working closely alongside the regular wait staff, assisting in serving and helping as hosts.  All tips received by deputies will be donated to Special Olympics Louisiana.

Special Olympics is one of the most recognized and respected charities, dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competitions.  According to LASO every $250 raised allows one athlete to train and compete for an entire year.

“We are excited to have our deputies participate in this event to raise funds for Special Olympics Louisiana.  It is a great way for our agency and our community to come together and raise awareness for a worthy cause,” stated Sheriff Tony Mancuso.  “The funds raised at this event will benefit those in Louisiana and help provide year-round programs for over 12,000 athletes.”
