CPSO INVESTIGATES PEDESTRIAN FATALITY IN LAKE CHARLES

Lake Charles –

 

Yesterday evening at approximately 5:40 p.m. the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in the 1300 block of West Lincoln Road in Lake Charles in reference to a man being hit by a car.

 

The investigation revealed the driver of a pickup truck was traveling westbound on W. Lincoln Road when he struck a pedestrian, Jonathan B. Guilbeau, 41, Cameron.  Guilbeau was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

In accordance with Louisiana state law, standard toxicology testing will be performed on both the driver and the pedestrian.  Impairment on the driver is not suspected at this time.

 

The fatality is still under investigation; it has not yet been determined if Guilbeau was walking on the shoulder or in the lane of travel.
