Lake Charles –

On Tuesday, May 2, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office received a complaint regarding Deputy Scott P. Hebert, 28, Lake Charles, messaging a 16 year old girl through Facebook. During the investigation detectives learned Hebert had inappropriate contact with the girl and had provided her with alcohol. When questioned by detectives, Hebert confirmed the allegations.

Hebert was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center Thursday, June 4 and bonded out the same day. He was charged with indecent behavior of a juvenile; and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

Judge Clayton Davis set his bond at $15,000.

Prior to being terminated by Sheriff Tony Mancuso Wednesday, Hebert worked in the Patrol Division and had been with the department for approximately 8 ½ years.

“I am very disturbed by this incident. Even though we put in all the safety measures to hire quality, competent deputies who have integrity, every once in a while we have one that chooses to take a path that is opposite of the very laws they enforce,” says Sheriff Tony Mancuso. “I am angry, embarrassed for our profession, and very sorry for this victim. Criminal activity will never be tolerated in our department and our deputies will always be held accountable for their actions.”

CPSO Lt. Mike Primeaux and Detective Cinnamon Salvador are the lead investigators on this case.
